Pharmaceutical company JSC Farmak (Kiev) launched the project “Electronic record of a series of drugs”, after which paper records of information on the production of a series of drugs will be completely replaced by electronic records . According to the company’s press release, the project partner was Siemens, which introduced similar systems for pharmaceutical companies Bayer, Johnson & Johnson, Takeda, etc.
The electronic record of a drug batch includes all the necessary protocols: from quality control of raw materials to information on all the steps and parameters recorded during the manufacture of the drug.
The company clarifies that the introduction of an electronic record minimizes the risk of operator error, optimizes the technological process and allows real-time monitoring of the situation on the site, and also provides comprehensive statistics to calculate overall equipment efficiency
In addition, the electronic record allows an authorized person to analyze all indicators of the drug online for deviations and release a batch of the drug remotely, from anywhere in the world.
“Digitization is a requirement of our time. As every Ukrainian citizen has an electronic passport, each series of medicines must therefore have its own electronic file. We are interested in deep digitization processes, so we are introducing electronic quality certificates, electronic research protocols, electronic drug series records and much more, ”said JSC Farmak Executive Director Volodymyr Kostiuk.
Farmak is the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market leader and produces drugs in the 14 therapeutic groups. Among the main directions are endocrinological, gastroenterological, cardiological, neurological, anti-cold and other drugs. Every year, it introduces about 20 new modern drugs with complex components to the market. Currently, the company’s product portfolio includes around 400 drugs.
