During Friday’s Capitals-Penguins game, Brock McGinn escaped a minor penalty for his head shot on Martin Fehervary which knocked the Caps first defender out of play. The Capitals claim Fehervary sustained an upper body injury during the game.

Now we have learned that McGinn will not be receiving any additional discipline from the NHL Player Safety Department either. via a report by Samantha Pell of the Washington Post.

Pell tweeted:

FWIW: No additional discipline from DoPS for Brock McGinn’s hit on Martin Fehervary last night. Fehervary was ruled out for the remainder of the game due to an upper body injury. No penalty on the game

This is the second time the Penguins have delivered a hit to Fehervary this season and have done well.

Earlier in the season, Sidney Crosby pushed Fehervary into the end boards in frustration during a 6-1 rout of the Capitals. Crosby did not get a miner and the DoPS chose not to intervene as well.
