Minister denies that GSK has stopped manufacturing and supplying Panadol products – Business & Finance

ISLAMABAD: Minister for National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination, Abdul Qadir Patel, said pharmaceutical company GSK is still manufacturing and supplying Panadol products in Pakistan.

Speaking to the media, the minister denied reports of the suspension of manufacture of Panadol products by Glaxo Smith Kline Consumer Healthcare Pakistan Ltd (GSK) in Pakistan.

“We want to facilitate the pharmaceutical industry in the country and the question of the prices of the drugs concerned is being discussed with the authorities concerned.”

He said that a meeting was held in this regard to discuss various aspects. “The current government will make a decision taking into account the difficulties of the general public.”

Meanwhile, pharmaceutical company Glaxo Smith Kline Consumer Healthcare Pakistan Ltd also said that GSK has continued to manufacture and supply Panadol products and made it clear that the company has not stopped production of Panadol products as stated in certain sections of the media.

“We have been an integral part of the healthcare industry for many years and contribute to Pakistan’s economic growth and stability with our products and our local manufacturing footprint,” the GSK representative said in a press release. ‘company.

He expressed hope that the ministry would tackle their real problems, including rationalizing prices to ensure the provision of better health services to Pakistanis.

An official from the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA) said that despite the difficulties, the pharmaceutical company has continued to produce Panadol products for patients.
