Etihad Cargo signs MoU for sustainable pharmaceutical transport solutions

Etihad Cargo will collaborate with Luxemburgglobal manufacturer and distributor of medical refrigeration appliances B Medical Systems to develop durable, temperature-controlled container units that use passive cooling technology to retain temperatures of -80 to 25 degrees Celsius for up to five days without the need for a power source external power supply, thus reducing carbon emissions, with load capacities ranging from 2 to 1,500 litres. The robust design and multi-use capabilities of the containers allow for an operational life of more than ten years.

By replacing old active cold chain air transport containers with aviation-specific units that consume less energy, Etihad Cargo is the future-proofing of the transport of pharmaceutical products, offering a better solution for Etihad Cargo customers, the aviation industry and the environment.”

Etihad Cargo participates in the BIO International Convention as part of a large Abu Dhabi delegation led by SE Abdulla bin Mohammad Al HamedPresident of the Ministry of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH). The delegation visits the UNITED STATES explore the prospects for collaboration within the health sector and, more specifically, the life sciences in order to establish sustainable mechanisms that empower the health sector in both countries and enhance that of Abu Dhabi distinguished healthcare ecosystem.
